DAY 01

Overnight stay at Negombo

After that we will transfer to the Negombo. Visit the North West coastal town of Negombo with its sun-kissed beaches, watersports, catamarans and fishing villages. DAY 02

Overnight stay at Anuradhapura

After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura. Check into hotel. Evening visit Anuradhapura, which were the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Sri Lanka. It is the home of two World Heritage sites. Many places of historical and archaeological interest could be visited. Sri Maha Bodhi (Sacred Bo-Tree) was brought as a sampling of the tree under which prince Siddhartha attained to enlightenment and it is over 2,200 years old and is the oldest historically documented tree in the world. At Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C), the 1600 stone columns you see are all that is left of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks.

Ruwanweliseya (2nd century B.C) is the most famous of all the Dagobas. It originally depicted the perfect ‘bubble shape” that modern restoration has not been able to accurately reproduce. ‘Samadhi’ Buddha statue (4th century AD) is one of the most famous statues, depicting the Buddha in a state of ‘Samadhi’ or deep meditation Isurumuniya rock temple (3rd century B.C) is well known for its rock carvings of ‘The Lovers’. Kuttam Pokuna – twin ponds (6th century AD) was used by the Buddhist monks as a bathing pool. Thuparama Dagoba (3rd century B.C) is the oldest Dagoba in the island, which enshrines the right collarbone of the Buddha.

DAY 03 & 04

Overnight stay at Dambulla / Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa (Free One day Sri Lankan Traditional Lunch)

Check out after breakfast and proceed to Dambulla and check into hotel.
Evening proceed on a village tour. It is an experience the real traditional Sri Lankan rural village style, consisting of Travel in a Bullock cart to a rural village through lush green paddy fields where you will be served tea and “juggery” along with lunch made to authentic Sri Lankan style. Traditional cooking methods, and a visit to a paddy field to see how the local farmers protect their crops from the wild animals, will be demonstrated. Finally proceed on a traditional canoe ride in a lake in Habarana.

Next Day, after breakfast visit the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya with a magnificent view of the surroundings (optional – you may rent bikes for a walk in the countryside). It is also famous for its frescoes, such as the frescoes of the Demoiselles, dream creatures between goddesses and princesses.

Thereafter proceed to Polonnaruwa for sightseeing. En route stopover in Habarana for a short elephant back ride. On completion proceed to Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 to reunite the country once more under a local leader. The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site.


 Thereafter proceed to Minneriya on an exciting Jeep Safari. Minneriya National Park is a dry season feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts. Some reports account number of elephants to as high as 700. Tourists visit Minneriya largely because of elephants, especially in dry season.

DAY 05

Overnight stay at Kandy

After the breakfast we will processed to Kandy. After check into hotel we will start short city tour in Kandy. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts center, a gem museum, a lapidary and Batik factory.

Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter proceed to an auditorium and witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing

DAY 06

Overnight stay at Colombo

Back to Colombo by Kandy Road – Colombo Road, It is the most famous road in Sri Lanka and it named A1 road. You will pass very nice environment and shops in Kaduganawa. Also En route visit the Elephant Orphanage. This orphanage was set up by the government to take care of baby elephants lost or abandoned in the wild.

DAY 07 + Free Colombo City Tour

End of Tour and Transfer to Airport

After breakfast enjoy free city tour of Colombo as you visit the various landmarks. Colombo is fast changing and developing to the modern city preserving the old charm to its splendor. Here visit the 100 years old clock tower, elegant historical building and many places like Pettah Bazaar, Buddhist Temple and Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall on your Colombo tour. Enjoy shopping in the colorful bazaars to take home lots of souvenirs, artifacts and Sri Lanka delights. Finally you will checkout of the hotel and transfer to the airport.
